November 9, 2008 Renzihausen Rose Garden
The Pittsburgh Rose Society honored our newsletter editor,
Father Gervase Degenhardt, on the occasion of his 50 year
anniversary ordination as a Roman Catholic Priest. This
event was held as part of the Society's November meeting.
The formal program format was suspended and the day was
devoted to socializing with the members and congratulating
Father Gervase on his stellar achievements.
Ralph Stehle was able to compile an informative and
entertaining presentation highlighting the events of Father’s
past fifty years. Father’s family in Kansas shared many
photographs and stories with Ralph who wove the
information into a fascinating narrative celebrating Father’s
life as a Capuchin Friar and member of the Pittsburgh and
American Rose Society.
