About Our Society

The Pittsburgh Rose Society is a component of the
American Rose Society and is part of the
Penn-Jersey District.
The Pittsburgh Rose Society,
founded in 1949, is a non-profit organization dedicated
to the art, science, and practice of growing roses in
Western Pennsylvania.   

The Society holds various events during the year.

The Pittsburgh Rose Society, in cooperation with
the McKeesport Garden Club maintains the
Renziehausen Park Rose Garden.  This is one of
the premier rose gardens in Pennsylvania and the
largest rose garden west of Hershey, PA.  
This garden
is one of the 130 plus AARS-accredited public rose gardens in
the United States, and the only AARS garden in Western
Pennsylvania.  You will find information and a virtual presentation
from the
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette(click on the Red Rose on both
pages)
at our Renzie Page   Visitors  may enjoy  and evaluate the
recent AARS winners as they grow in our climate conditions.
