The Renzie pruning demonstrations are over but if you need help with pruning, go to our Site Map page and click on “pruning”.  You always have the great option of calling one of our consulting Rosarians.  Get one near you by clicking on the “consulting rosarian” link on the home page.  Our next meeting will be on Sunday, May 20, 2007 at 2 pm.  The topic will be “Carefree roses”.  Father Gervase (picture above giving a pruning leason), our newsletter editor and form head of the Carefree Rose Committee of the Penn-Jersey District will present a discussion of what this designation means and Dorothy Zenkevich has collected photos of some of the more popular roses on the Carefree list.  In short, these are roses that do well in our climate with little care, other than adequate water and fertilization.  That basically means they should survive in good to fair condition without chemical spraying.  For more information, go to the Events Page.  See you the 20th.  If you have never been to a meeting, this is a good one to catch.
