Entry for October 17, 2007
The weather is moving rapidly from summer to fall. The leaves are finally turning—much later than usual. Many of you may have questions about getting your roses through winter, especially if you put in a new bed this year or just starting dabbling in rose growing. We had a good presentation last Sunday at our October meeting about this with Ralph Stehle giving lots of good advice. I’ve placed a link to Father Gervase’s excellent article on Winterizing on the “things to do” page. I hope the items on that page and this article from one of our previous Newsletters will answer your questions about winter care. Father’s article was picked up by the American Rose Society and the access given here is through the ARS website. If you have more questions, Father’s email address and phone number can be found at our “Consulting Rosarian” page. And, don’t forget to give your roses some water. It is awfully dry in Western Pa. 2007-10-17 20:52:43 GMT
