Let's talk roses! This section of our Rose Society web site is devoted to current topics of interest to our members.
Entry for January 19, 2008

Here in Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania we are in the grips of Old Man Winter.  The low tonight is forecast to be about 7 to 10 degrees.  That’s cold.  But the other signs of coming spring are evident.  The sun is setting later and rising a little earlier.  Snow Drops are blooming in our rose garden.  And plans are set for the Winter Banquet, Saturday February 23, 2008 at Jamie’s in Dormont.   If you have never been to one of the Society’s banquets, come on out that evening.  We would love to meet more of you.  Our membership roles run about 160 active gardeners.  Yet our regular meeting attendance runs in the twenties, maybe forty on a really good day.  We now you like to read about roses.  The chief reason people belong is to get the Society’s Newsletter.  Take the next step and get to meet the people who stage those rose shows, put out the Newsletter, staff the Home Show booth, nurture the Renziehausen Park Rose Garden, and love to grow roses and garden just like you do.  You will be glad you came.  More information is on the Events Page.
